Customer action for vertex AI M125 release

M125 release says "Patched a vulnerability with adm and docker permissions when the instance's root access isn't enabled." for notebooks.

To apply the vulnerability patch from the Vertex AI M125 release to your current notebook, you may follow these steps:

  • Update your instance: Ensure that your Vertex AI Workbench instance is upgraded to the M125 release. For more information, refer to the release notes on the Google Cloud page for Vertex AI Workbench.
  • Restart your notebook: Once updated, reboot it to apply the changes. This will ensure that the patched permissions for ADM and Docker are properly applied.
  • Check the patch: Verify the permission settings to ensure that the vulnerability has been patched. You can do this by running a test to confirm that the permissions are properly restricted when root access is disabled.
