Gemini 1.5 pro API Integration

I am using and testing Gemini 1.5 pro on Google AI Studio, Makersuite. And I want to use 1.5 pro API for integration of my own app like 1.0 pro. So, how can I access the API? 

And I wonder what is the Gemini Pro account and how can I sign up?

Thank you for your interest in Gemini 1.5 Pro on Google AI Studio. Currently in Private Preview, Gemini 1.5 Pro doesn't yet support integration with other APIs. Stay informed by checking the Generative AI on Vertex AI release notes for updates on public availability (which may occur without notice).

At Preview, products or features are ready for testing by customers. Preview offerings are often publicly announced, but are not necessarily feature-complete, and no SLAs or technical support commitments are provided for these. Unless stated otherwise by Google, Preview offerings are intended for use in test environments only. The average Preview stage lasts about six months.

Gemini 1.0 Pro on the other hand can be used for production and can be integrated with other APIs. You can access it using your existing Google account.

With Gemini 1.0, I also want to know what is the difference between direct integration and calling Gemini API through Vertex AI.
