Google Cloud Translation Advanced MemoQ plugin issue

Hello,

I hope you are well.

I am experiencing difficulties with the Google Cloud Translation Advanced plugin, specifically when attempting to load a custom translation model I trained.

Here is what I have done so far:

1. I trained a GCP AutoML translation model.

2. I set up a Service Account with the following roles:

AutoML Admin
Cloud Translation API Admin
Owner
Storage Admin

3. I generated a Service Account JSON key from Step 2 and integrated it into the Google Cloud Translation Advanced plugin.

4. However, when trying to apply the AutoML translation model, I couldn't see any custom model.

Hi Mahmoud_Tawfeek,

Welcome to the Google Cloud Community!

Here are some suggestions that you may try to resolve your issue:

  • The AutoML model must be located in the same region you specify in the MemoQ plugin. While you have us-central1 selected, double-check in your Google Cloud Console the exact region where your AutoML model is deployed.
  • Remove the Owner role, as it is generally not recommended for service accounts due to its broad access, and add the following roles:
  • After applying the new roles, there might be a delay before the changes take effect. Wait at least 15-30 minutes and try again to allow time for the new permissions to fully propagate.
  • Check for plugin updates and compatibility with your MemoQ version.
  • You've enabled "Cloud Translation API Admin," which implies the API is enabled. However, just in case, ensure that both the Cloud Translation API and Cloud AutoML API are enabled in the Google Cloud Console for the project.
  • In the Google Cloud Console, confirm that your AutoML model is actively deployed and "serving predictions." A trained model isn't available for use until deployed.
  • Verify that the computer running the MemoQ plugin isn't blocked from accessing Google Cloud services due to firewall rules.

Hello nikacalupas,

Thank you very much for your try to help.
I have tried all what you mentioned as in the screenshots below, except for model deployment, as i couldn't find any option for deployment just Evaluate and Predict and the model status is "Success: training model".

And for firewall check, it already can access the glossary.
