How to update the existed unstructured data to add metadata

Hi, I have unstructured data in the AI Application storage, now I want to add some metadata or structured data to them, thus that I can use them in the discovery engine API. Is there any possible method to complete this job?

I've found a post , but it didn't say how to connect the unstructured data with metadata, if I want to do some operations depended on the metadata when I searched  them later.
