Instance schedule for TPU VM

Hello,

I would like to attach an instance schedule to a TPU VM. I have followed these instructions, and can correctly create an instance schedule, but it seems I can only attach it to regular VMs, i.e., VMs listed under the "instances" of my project. Is there a way around this?
