ROLES required for Migration from Custom Search Site Restricted JSON API to Vertex AI Search

I am migrating as it seems to be required by Google.

In the transition guide it doesn't talk about ROLES required. I am using a service_account and want to assign it the right roles/permissions.

Can anyone detail the necessary permission? It appears OWNER works but I'd like a more limited amount of roles if possible.  I tried intially a bunch of the Vertex AI roles but it didnt seem to be enough, and there is no documentation to details the roles needed.

Is there a way we can filter by date? Google's custom json API which we have to migrate away from allowed you to use google operators. This will not be a good solution for us to migrate too if we cannot limit to certain amount of days. Recent sort is not enough.  

Also I am not seeing facet settings https://cloud.google.com/generative-ai-app-builder/docs/configure-widget-facets

i am not seeing Facet settings. it mentioned about select the data stores, but i am not sure how you would select that,  I was hoping maybe something on that end might allow filters by date. Though we are using the API not the widget.
