Retail search - Upload a Catalog Dataset in an unsupported language

Currently, Retail Search does not support Chinese, but if I still upload a Catalog Dataset in an unsupported language, will this Search function still be useful? What impact will it have? Will the returned results be unable to be personalized and semantically searched?

The language is set by you when uploading the catalog and it should be in one language only, and the queries should be sent in the same language.
Including multiple languages in the catalog can impact model performance. For instance, if the catalog is in Spanish and a search query is in English, the Retail API doesn't automatically translate the query to Spanish.

If the Retail Search feature doesn't support Chinese, uploading a catalog dataset in that language may limit the effectiveness of the search function.

The search function might not be able to process Chinese text effectively, resulting in an inability to search or retrieve accurate results for queries in Chinese. This could potentially limit users who prefer to search in Chinese.

Personalization of search results could be impacted. If the system can't understand the language, it might struggle to personalize recommendations based on user behavior or preferences in Chinese.

Semantic search, which understands the meaning and context of words beyond their literal interpretation, might not work optimally for Chinese content. This could lead to less accurate or relevant search results.
