Signed NVIDIA drivers for Debian

Hello!

My organization requires all of our instances run with secure boot enabled.  The consequence of this is that we require google signed drivers.  At the moment vertex recommends using debian images and is deprecating the usage of ubuntu images.  Our infra folks have already followed this advice, putting us on a secure boot enabled, debian 11 image.  This also means we're unable to install the Nvidia drivers and stack.

Can someone sign the debian drivers and add them (https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/gpus/install-drivers-gpu#secure-boot)?   Pretty please :).

Hi @leesmith

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

The recommended solution is to use Google's purpose-built Deep Learning VM (DLVM) images. These images come with the NVIDIA drivers, CUDA toolkit, and ML frameworks pre-installed and, most importantly, signed by Google. This ensures that the drivers are included and managed by Google as part of the image, making them compatible with Secure Boot.
