Hi, I'm using both Google Cloud TTS and Microsoft Azure TTS. Both offer a free quota of characters (or bytes, for Google) per month. I use these TTS services both via API and on their web interfaces.
While I can easily see the number of synthesized characters in my Azure TTS service (see picture below), I can't find anything in my Google TTS service. Is there such a thing?
Apologies if this might just be a newbie question, but I wasted way too much time trying to find a simple graph or something that would tell me 'used 34,457 characters of 1M'. Can't be that hard...
Thanks for your time.
Good day @sascha3,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community!
You can go to Billing > Report then in the filters Group by SKU and for Services select Cloud Text-to-Speech API, You can check here the character counts for using standard voices or wavenet voices. You can also try using the Monitoring API usage to keep track of your character totals: https://cloud.google.com/text-to-speech/pricing
Hope this helps!
Great, thank you! Is there also a way to track the usage of the Neural voices?
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the specific details about the number of synthesized characters you can use with a Text-to-Speech (TTS) service can vary depending on the platform or service provider you're using. Different TTS services have different usage limits, pricing models, and policies.
For example, services like Amazon Polly, Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Text-to-Speech, and others might have different pricing tiers based on the number of characters synthesized. These services often offer a certain number of characters per month for free and then charge based on usage beyond that limit.
It's important to review the documentation and terms of service of the specific TTS service you plan to use to get accurate and up-to-date information on their usage limits, pricing, and any restrictions that may apply.

Microsoft Azure TTS (Text-to-Speech):
For the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the usage details and quotas for both Google Cloud TTS and Microsoft Azure TTS, I recommend checking the official documentation of each respective service. These platforms may have updated their user interfaces or added new features since my last knowledge update.
If you have trouble finding the specific information you need, consider reaching out to the support or documentation channels of Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure for assistance.
Exactly, Hurry061! Google Cloud TTS and Microsoft Azure TTS offer usage details and quotas through their respective consoles—Google Cloud Console and Azure Portal. Checking the official documentation for the most accurate and up-to-date information is a wise approach. If you encounter difficulties, contacting the support or documentation channels for both services is recommended. Happy synthesizing!
It seems like Google Cloud TTS might not have a straightforward way to view the number of synthesized characters. You may want to check Google Cloud Console's "Quotas" page for usage details or consider reaching out to Google Cloud support for more specific information on your character usage. Hope this helps!
In Google Cloud TTS, character usage metrics aren't as readily available as in Azure. You may check your Google Cloud Console's billing section for a detailed breakdown of API usage, including TTS character consumption. It provides a comprehensive overview of your usage to help monitor and manage quotas effectively.
Hello! I'm having really hard times finding the number of tts characters consumption, any help?
