Vertex AI cannot access cloud storage

I am trying to set up my first fine-tuning with vertex ai. I am unable to load my data in a cloud storage bucket. I receive the following message in the UI when I select the jsonl file. 

Missing permissions: storage.objects.get

I have owner permissions myself, and all my service accounts have storage admin, storage object viewer, and storage object admin permissions. 

I'm pretty stumped let me know if anyone can help.

  1. Ensure you're using the correct service account for your Vertex AI job. It's often a service account associated with the Vertex AI resource.
  2. Ensure the bucket itself has appropriate permissions. Sometimes, bucket-level permissions can affect object-level access.
  3. Verify that there are no firewall rules blocking access to the Cloud Storage bucket.
