Hello all,
I've been doing some prototyping work with new consolidated Conversational Agents console.
There are some very promising features, but the developer experience currently is too unstable and frustrating. The console was almost unusable due to bugs when it was first rolled out in December, and while it has improved I'm still regularly encountering strange behaviour, random error messages and fairly obvious bugs in the product.
I've been logging as many issues and bugs as I can through the integrated feedback tool. I'm not getting any responses and most of them remain issues as we move into late January.
The documentation talks about the consolidation plan ending in 'early 2025' which is also a bit vague to inspire confidence things will be stable anytime soon!
So, for other end-users who have tried the new console - what has been your experience?
And for any Googlers who may be able to comment in any way 😀
How close are we to Conversational Agents being stable enough for projects to actually build on top of with confidence?
I really appreciate that roadmap questions can be hard to answer even for a non AI product. It obviously becomes much harder when you're consolidating two generations of AI service into one. But while I'm impressed with Google's wider AI efforts, we've had a disappointing experience with Conversational Agents to date. We will unfortunately soon have to move our project to an alternative platform such as OpenAI if things don't improve.
