Create an explore to follow active users that should be deactivated

Hi,

I have been playing around with the User Activity dashboard that shows the different users.

I would like to create a Data Quality dashboard, that based on my people data, I can receive alerts when a user has left the company but still has an active Looker Account.

I know how to create something using the user explore, but I would like to create a new explore that joins my people data.

Is it possible in my LookML declaration ? The other solution would be to load the looker data back into my warehouse using the API, but I'm wondering if there is something easier !

Thanks for your help !

This is such a cool use case!

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to join the System Activity explores with any of your own explores in the LookML.

However, you can use merged results to join them! Might this help out in your use case?

Following! The LookML dashboards and explores leave so much to be desired.

Hi @sam8 !

Thanks for the reply. I understood later why it’s not possible - data are not coming from the same databases.

I managed to do something with merged results, but unfortunately alerting is not available for this ! Do you know if this is planned ?

Best,

Quentin

I don't think alerts on merged results are on the roadmap! But it's a great feature request. You can add your use case and upvotes to the feature request: Allow alerts on merged results
