Hi,
we are trying out the Explore Assistant which uses AI for creating results from the Explore.
Is there a way how to recognise in the System Activity data, e.g. History, that the user used Explore Assistant instead of Explore? It seems to me like there's no traceability and we would really like to know if our user use it and how. Thanks!
We currently do not have this kind of data in System Activity as tools such as Explore Assistant are open source plugins and this one simply generates explore URLs. For general usage tracking you would need to contact the developers of the plugin: https://github.com/looker-open-source/looker-explore-assistant
It does make me think that we could expose some way of tagging plugin use for observability in System Activity. I've filed a ticket with my team to ponder that.
Thank you for the question!
Hi Jana,
Great question and love to hear you starting to leverage GenAI in your Looker deployment! At this time, there is not a system activity query that would explicitly call out if an explore was run from an extension instead of the explore page. This is a great feature request and you can submit that feature request to our product team.
