Use a local syslog server. If you want to ftp the files later, do that. But don't use FTP for logging.
Check the documentation for the message logging policy. It can log via FILE and SYSLOG. Neither of those are FTP. (There are some limitations for when you can use file logging. It works only in OPDK)
