🗓 The session will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 4:00 PM CET, which is 11:00 AM EDT and 8:00 AM PDT.
Hello @AlexET
I will attend on Thursday 10th and 17th of April if we have session on those days. Will catch up on the missed one later. So far so good. Learned on different topics from API, App Integration, Monitoring and Alerts in APIGEE.
Just want to know more also about Networking (VPC, Security, CIDR, ...) with APIGEE.
Any difference in GCP networking and APIGEE (X, Hybrid) networking? See you soon.
Great to hear you'll be joining our sessions! And yes, we'll share the topic updates soon for each date. Also, thanks for suggesting those topics – it's really helpful to know what you're interested in. 😉
@tyayers, could you please add to the question about the differences between GCP and Apigee networking?
Thanks again for your participation, we really appreciate it!
Hi @Atchiap - Apigee X & hybrid networking is based on GCP networking, and uses the built-in capabilities in the cloud and in hybrid environments. GCP networking VPCs, Shared VPCs, VPC Peering, DNS Peering, VPN, InterConnect & PSC Private Service Connect are all utilized and/or available as options to utilize in Apigee. An overview is available here, let us know if it would be helpful to have a dedicated session on it!
Hi @tyayers
Networking is always an interesting part of the infra. Classic networking is a bit different from the cloud one. Sessions on networking (apply to API) can be helpful. I see there is a Northbound and Southbound networking when using PSC depending on how you access the backend service and endpoints. Loadbalance, Peering, Proxy, Security, Network accross regions and zones can become quickly complex to manage.
Coming back to Apigee, I have another concern: why using Apigee services when building or deploying instead of an API Gateway or just a simple API access. Is it because of complexity or specific needs ? Thanks
Hi @Atchiap - Apigee can manage all of the APIs in an organization, and between organizations, so it goes beyond a simple gateway. If you just have one service in Cloud Run then a simple API Gateway is fine, but if you want to manage APIs in a consistent & automated way for multiple teams or the whole organization, then having Apigee directly in the network topology is a great solution. Just reach out in case of further questions!
