New Apigee and networking charging

We have been using Bigquery to save our GA4 data for over a year, and paid for bigquery storage and analysis. We never received Apigee and networking charge before. However since Jan 5 we notice the new charging for Apigee and networking everyday, and we didn't do any change on our side. Can you explain what they are? Can we turn Apigee and networking service off but keep Bigquery export for GA4?   Thank you!

Carolyn,

It's possible that someone who has access to your GCP organization decided to enable Apigee among other networking services in a GCP project. You can use your Billing tools to drill down on consumption by project and by product / SKU.You can also create billing alerts to prevent budget overruns. Once you identify the project with unexpected consumption you can delete it or just detach the billing id from it.

Furthermore, Google Cloud provides centralized control over your organization's cloud resources with the Organization Policy Service. With this service you can define a constraint (constraints/gcp.restrictServiceUsage) to prevent GCP services from being enabled by principals with access to your organization.
