Data Goes Missing on Shared Apps

Hello Community, 

We are experiencing a weird issue with some of our apps. Say I don't own the app and I am an editor on it; There's a bug  that happens that removes scripts or even document IDs from an automation. I then have to log into the owner account and adjust from there and re add back the function or document ID. What it feels like is its losing the data or there is times where functions will go missing if they haven't been touched in a long time OR the amount of save counts for an app overwrites the data containing that piece or looses reference in the back end so it gets abandoned. Unsure and its getting annoying as I have to go back and forth from accounts if I need to make unrelated changes just for an item to break that is unrelated.

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this?

I haven't heard of this. Possible the original document is getting moved to the trash? Or overwritten?

Documents are held in our corp shared drive. They have limited user access. The documents and scripts are still present, Could be held just fine for several save and verifies and out of nowhere automation red x error script not defined or DOC ID not present.

Only the OWNER of an app can connect external files (ie: documents and script files).  

  • This is something that I've faced over and over again over the years as a collaborator on apps.

The document has not changed and the owner of the app has already set the bot up to be proper. Any changes I do are unrelated and don't enact a change to the bots processes. I believe it is purely a bug as  I woke up this morning to check on the app that was causing issues yesterday and it then was fine. back to normal. Had disable for yesterday to have the app run.

I've had a few script files that I've connected, meaning scripts that I'm running through an automation task, sometimes need me to reauthorize - even though nothing has changed on the script for weeks.

  • You're right though, it sounds like this was indeed some sort of transient bug. 🐜
