Salesforce Bigquery bidirectional connection

Hello All,

Good day.

Business use case description>> We are looking to move data from Salesforce to GCP for advance analytics. Old data don't need to reside in SF and it would help maintain older data sets on GCP as read-only archives.

However, following the archival, Salesforce needs access to that data on-demand.

Is there a solution for bi-directional connectivity between Salesforce and BigQuery?

Thank you for your support.

Hi there,

One option is you can still keep the archived data in GCP (BigQuery) and use the salesforce bigquery connector (https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_bi_directdata_google_bigquery_ga.htm&r... ) to access it? This means you remove the toil of moving data back to salesforce. hope this helps

Hi,

Good day.

Thank you for commenting.

Can the suggested solution be used as a secondary database for Salesforce, something as explained here >> Managing Large Salesforce Data Using Heroku and Salesforce Connect - Salesforce Live

Hi

Good day to you too 🙂

Your question on whether it can be used as secondary database, My opinion is its subjective to your requirements. From Google cloud point of view, you may choose to leverage the Google clouds architecture framework guidance here to qualify or further deep dive into feasibility of using it as secondary database.

Thank you.

This eliminates the need to move or copy data, offering:

  • Seamless, Real-Time Access: Analyze your Salesforce data directly in BigQuery without lag.
  • Zero ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): No complex data pipelines needed, simplifying your data management.
  • Bidirectional Flow: Enrich your Salesforce Customer 360 with Google Cloud data or other relevant datasets for deeper insights.

This integration leverages BigQuery Omni and Analytics Hub, allowing:

  • Data Analysts, Marketing Analysts, and Data Scientists: All can work with combined Salesforce and Google Cloud data for self-service analytics and AI/ML projects.
