Oliver00: “What resources should I be using to get started?”

Zehra_ladiwala: “Hello Oliver, a great place to start is the setup checklist within the GCP console. It outlines a step-by-step process to set up, with links to supporting documentation and resources in case you get stuck. We also have the web version located here: https://cloud.google.com/docs/enterprise/setup-checklist

Brdgtlyons: “After we go through the 10-steps of the onboarding process, what comes next?”

Nehadoshi: “Hey there! We recommend having a plan to migrate workloads to the Cloud -- typically, starting with less complex ones to get going. We also recommend starting these deployments early, to ensure you're getting the most value out of your Cloud journey as soon as possible.”

Francisco04: “How long does it take to set up?”

Stevechiang: “With the right buy-in and decisions made from your organization's stakeholders, the setup process can take as little as a few hours to a few days to complete, depending on your company's internal change management processes. Note that implementation can be made simpler with automation tools, too -- if you're comfortable using them.”

Luis88: “Who should I involve on my team to set up the foundations of GCP?”

Stevechiang: “Great question! You should be involving your Cloud Center of Excellence to ensure a well-rounded setup. Usually, these personas can include: Infrastructure admin, Identity admin, Networking admin, Security, Monitoring, Billing admins, as well as any application architects based on the workload you're planning to migrate thereafter.”

MickyLynn: “Can we automate any of the setup?”

Brettpearce: “Great question! If your organization is comfortable with it, there are several IaC tools available to help automate the process, including Deployment Manager and Terraform. Link here: https://cloud.google.com/foundation-toolkit.”

Luis88: “What if I get stuck -- can I reach out to anyone at Google for help?”

Zehra_ladiwala: “Hello Luis,  the best place to start would be to reach out to your sales team. They can help triage your issue, and pull in expert assistance if needed. For any troubleshooting assistance the support options can be found on the link here - https://cloud.google.com/support

Francisco04: “Do these 10 steps cover everything my company will need to do to get started with GCP?”

Nehadoshi: “The 10-step checklist is a great start to build your foundation on Google Cloud -- but it may not cover all your organization's needs based on the industry & workloads you plan to run on the Cloud. For example, you may require greater security & compliance setup steps based on your industry.”

Chethi007: “Where can I get in-depth documentation on each GCP product  with real examples?”

Stevechiang: “Thanks for your question chethi007, please take a look at this link for more detailed information regarding Google Cloud services, including quick start guides, walkthroughs, and use cases. https://cloud.google.com/docs#section-4

Brdgtlyons: “How do I get myself and my team trained up on GCP outside of the console?”

Zehra_ladiwala: “Hello, there are several resources to get your teams trained up on Google Cloud.

Qwiklabs and Coursera offer great, self-paced courses. This link is a good place to start - https://cloud.google.com/training . If you'd like a guided session on a specific topic, reach out to your sales team to connect you to the right training resources.”
