Not sure where to publish this, so hopefully it's the right place.
I created a Free or Trial account, and I would like to expunge all from Cloud, for the purpose of getting back to the Cloud Setup screen. I've found a solution, but given that not everything is potentially not completed, I just want to get rid of my connection to Google Cloud.
How can I do that, and maintain my sanity?
Hi @HowDoIGetOut ,
This whole documentation indicates how to delete your Google account, however, on the latter part it, provides steps on how to delete related Google Cloud Platform projects, organizations, and billing information.
But to give you a summary, to completely delete a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) account and all subscriptions associated with it, you can follow these general steps:
1. Cancel active services and subscriptions: Log in to your GCP console at https://console.cloud.google.com/ and navigate to the Billing section. Cancel any active services and subscriptions associated with your GCP account. This step is crucial to avoid incurring any further charges.
2. Clear all resources: Review and delete all the resources in your GCP project(s) to avoid unnecessary charges and to ensure a clean slate. This includes VM instances, storage buckets, databases, network configurations, etc.
3. Remove billing account: In the GCP console, go to the Billing section and select your billing account. Click on "Cancel billing" and follow the prompts to unlink your billing account from the GCP project(s).
4. Disable or delete project(s): Go to the GCP console's "Project settings" and either disable or delete the project(s) associated with your GCP account. Disabling a project will disable all the resources within it, while deleting a project will permanently remove it and its resources.
Thank you.
step 1 completed properly, hopefully.
step 2 hadn’t set any of this up, hopefully empty.
step 3 was a pain in the arse, no more billing accounts. Finally.
step 4 dashboard reports no projects to be found.
Only thing I’m potentially missing is the disassociation of my google account with google cloud itself. I used my primary, and only, account for this.
Is there a way to disassociate from cloud?
Also, is my credit card information finally gone as well?
Thanks in advance.
