I am trying to delete my Google workspace account but it tells me I need to delete active projects in GCP first.
I have managed to follow some instructions to delete a resource called "Form Studio" but it's told me it's scheduled for deletion in a months time! Do I really have to wait a month to delete this resource, just in order to delete my workspace account?
This seems utterly insane.
Hi @frustrated-user,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community!
The Form Studio resource needs to be deleted before the Google Workspace account can be deleted. The deletion of Form Studio resource takes a month. In the meantime, the user can contact Google support to expedite the deletion process, export any data that they need from Form Studio, and make sure that they have a backup of all of their other important data.
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately it seems you need a subscription in order to access support for google cloud?
As someone who signed up for Gsuite, and was moved to Workspace, I have never used google cloud.
Why on earth should I have to pay for a support subscription for something I didn't know I needed to have, just to delete my account with another service?
In the meantime I've had to start a free trial with workspace again, in order to access their support, because I couldn't figure out what on earth was happening over at GCP because I've never laid eyes on it, after being told you needed to cancel subscriptions before deleting.
So what do I do? If I wait a month then I will actually have to pay for the privilege (at a higher price because I cancelled my discounted deal) of deleting my workspace account as the free trial runs out. Or I cancel the free trial and risk another nightmare scenario and I can no longer talk to a support agent in a months time when perhaps I have fixed my GCP issue.
Madness.
