Extreme increase in queries in Programmable Custome Search API

Hello Community,

We are using programmable custom search.

Since the new year, we have had a 2.5 times increase in the number of queries.

We have checked the site traffic metrics. The number of website visitors remains unchanged.

We have added the query limits in Custom Search API->QUOTAS. Also, we have specified domains from which users are allowed to make queries. I have checked the source of queries, there are no extraneous ones. They all come from the allowed website where we use Search API. 
All these didn't help the number of queries does not drop down.
