I have gone through all the steps of the Google Cloud Setup. I chose almost entirely default settings, I just want to get something up and running so I can test out what is possible. But I am unable to deploy and I am also unable to create new projects. I have submitted the form as suggested to increase quota but it seems strange to me I would have to do that using default settings. I even switched my billing account to a paid one from the free trial in case that was the issue. I have received zero communications from google and it has been more than a week so the 2 business day suggestion has long since past. I wouldn't even mind if they let me know that they received my request and some kind of estimated time frame as to when they will be able to work on my issue. Some kind of ticket number to track status would also be nice.
All that said, is there something I am doing wrong? I wish I could get ahold of Google to tell me one way or the other.... Maybe someone here can help?
Hi @benzorblaze,
Welcome to the Google Cloud Community!
I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Have there been any updates from the quota team?
Additionally, there have been instances where customers selected the wrong quota request. There are two distinct quotas: one for 'how many projects this user account can create' and another for 'how many projects this billing account can be associated with'. We want to increase the quota for the latter. If you're still encountering issues even after your quotas have been approved, please kindly follow the steps below:
I hope this helps. Thank you.
Unfortunately no, I have had no response from the quota team. And your suggestion for increasing quota is exactly what I have already done. Not sure why no one responds to me. At this point I feel like I made a mistake of going through the cloud setup process. I literally wanted to test basic functionality of Google cloud but I haven't been able to do that because for some reason I am out of quota before I even start. I kind of want to blow away the whole thing and start over. Is that possible?
Great Article Thanks For Sharing the Information...(URL Removed by Staff)
I had the exact same problem and did have my quota increased but I didn’t need it on the end. Somehow I escaped the set up area and got to look at the example code and projects. Every now and then it forces me back to the set up page. Did you find a way to cancel the set up? - it seems like it’s for massive IT corporations. I just want an autocomplete address field on my website not have to set up multiple teams and emails and access levels and backup servers. lol.
