Leave unknown organisation and projects

I just logged into my GCP account after a very long time in order to do some training.

I noticed that someone has added my personal google account to their organization, and also a few of their projects that aren't inside an organization.

At the moment, I'm unable to create any resources on GCP because if I try to create a billing account, it tries to create it in the organization, for which I don't have any permission.

Is there any way to leave these projects/organizations without having to contact the owners? I don't even know who the owners are!

Currently the only way to do this is to contact one or more project owners (eg. via email) and request them to remove you. Users don't have the ability to revoke their own access.

Hi, i'm currently facing a similar issue, but I have lost all contact with the owner. Is there still a way for me to leave this organisation ?

I find myself in the same boat, having been added to projects without my knowledge or consent and seemingly unable to extricate myself from being associated with them. Surely the response provided by @dasalemi cannot be the final word on the matter; if in fact I have no sovereignty over the projects and organizations my account is associated with, then why on Earth would I ever remain a user?

I'd like to ask for the next Google employee who sees this thread to escalate it for review at the earliest possible convenience by someone able to speak authoritatively on behalf of the company as to the rights users have to manage the projects and organizations their account is associated with. This strikes at the heart of a relationship between a service and its userbase and deserves a thorough and definitive response.

Thank you.

I can't believe this is still an issue two years later.

The list of organizations and projects I've been added to (without consent!) is growing, and I have no way to leave. I don't know who the owners of these organizations or projects are, so I cannot ask them to remove me.

@dasalemi I also have this issue. Im a freelancer so startups over the years have added me to their org and with the passing of time they have gone out of business and their staff moved on yet i still have their organisations in my personal GCP, I have no need to see other peoples projects which are now dead listed amongst my own. Why on earth cant be at least opt to hide or disable an org
