Organication access issue, unable to access supoprt

I need to purchase a cloud support plan, but when attempt to do this I get the error below. I own the account and am the account administrator, but when I go to provide myself with this access, it states "You need additional access". So I am stuck in a loop of being unable to access any support.

Please contact your Organization Admin.

You must be assigned Support > Support Account Administrator for the organization in IAM to continue.

Please refer to the official documentation and make sure have the prerequisite roles.

To quote [1]:

  • You must have a Google Cloud organization, and the Organization Administrator (roles/resourcemanager.organizationAdmin) role for the organization.

    To create an organization and add the role, visit Creating and managing organizations.

    If you don't have the role for an existing organization, contact an Organization Administrator for access.

  • You must have the Support Account Administrator (roles/cloudsupport.admin) role. To learn how to assign yourself the role, visit Access control.

  • You must have a Cloud Billing account to fund the Standard Support base fee. To create an account, see Create, modify, or close your Cloud Billing account.
