Rust SDK?

I saw a job post on reddit a while ago from a google engineer seeking a Rust developer for the build-out of an SDK. Is that still in the works?

I'm trying to decide between GCP and AWS. While I'd much prefer GCP, the lack of first-party tooling for rust is a deterrent.

I was checking about the Rust SDK and I found this feature request. I could not find any more news regarding rust SDK.   I hope it helps.
