Can you provide us with any information regarding a cloud region in Saudi Arabia? We see articles on the Google Cloud blog about this but have yet to see a tentative date on availability.
We are in the process of providing a proposal for an entity in Saudi Arabia that requires our platform to be hosted on Saudi Arabia servers. I have contacted our google business development rep but have not gotten a reply.
Stay tuned for more info announced at the end of the week.
Hi @davidcwatkins - this was posted to the Cloud Blog today. Documentation available here.
The Dammam cloud region is now open, providing businesses operating in the Kingdom and in the Middle East high-performance, low-latency cloud services. This milestone is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting digital transformation across the Middle East, following our launch in Doha and plans to bring a region to Kuwait.
Hi @AndrewB,
Thanks for the information and followup its much appreciated. It appears as a United States customer we have to change our billing to "invoice" in order to use the "Saudi Arabia" region. On the page to change to invoice, it has this line (https://support.google.com/cloud/contact/apply_for_invoiced_billing)
Spending a minimum of $3,500 a month for the last 3 months or $40,000 for the past 12 months.
We use GCP for our platform, but were not at that amount currently. So are we going to be rejected from switching to invoice billing, in order to use Saudi Arabia based on this?
Thanks,
Dave
I would recommend contacting the sales team or the KSA reseller CNTXT on this topic.
