BigQuery ODBC Driver error - failed to decrypt data (Refresh data on server)

Hi,

we are trying to connect BigQuery from Power BI server using Simba ODBC Driver (v 2.5.2.1004) and we receive the below error:

ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [Simba][DriverSupport] (1030) Failed to decrypt data: Key not valid for use in specified state. ERROR [HY000] [Simba][DriverSupport] (1030) Failed to decrypt data: Key not valid for use in specified state.

The connection works perfectly on Power BI Desktop.

Does any one know the solution for this? We use service authentication using special service account.

Welcome back to Google Cloud Community.

The error "Failed to decrypt data: Key not valid for use in specified state." can happen when  key used for connecting to the data source not working when other users attempt to execute workflows if the worker machine doesn't have a ODBC authentication option configured to encrypt the password for the all users of the machine. The possible solution is to enable the setting to encrypt passwords for all users of the machine.
