BigQuery Project Not Being Listed in Google Sheets Data Connector

I have a BigQuery project set up under my organization in GCP that I'm trying to access through Google Sheets. However, the interface doesn't seem to list the project, even when searching for the Project ID or Project Name. Not sure if it's a setup issue or something else. Would love any insights on resolving this issue.

To address the issue where your BigQuery project isn't appearing in Google Sheets, follow these steps:

  1. Google Sheets Add-on:

    • Confirm Installation: Ensure that the "Connected Sheets" add-on is installed in your Google Sheets. You can find it in the Add-ons menu.
  2. Permissions:

    • Project Access: Verify that your Google account has the "BigQuery Data Viewer" and "BigQuery User" roles at a minimum for the project in question.
    • Organization Policies: If your organization uses Google Workspace, check with your administrator to see if there are any policies restricting access to BigQuery from Google Sheets.
  3. Billing:

    • Enabled Billing: Confirm that billing is enabled for the Google Cloud project associated with your BigQuery dataset.
  4. Data Location:

    • Supported Regions: Ensure that the BigQuery dataset is located in a region supported by Connected Sheets. You can check the supported regions in the Connected Sheets documentation.
  5. APIs Enabled:

    • BigQuery API: Verify that the BigQuery API is enabled in the Google Cloud Console for the relevant project.
  6. Refreshing and Re-authentication:

    • Refresh Data Sources: Try refreshing the data sources list within the Connected Sheets add-on.
    • Re-authenticate: Sign out of your Google account in Google Sheets and then sign back in.
  7. Additional Tips:

    • Browser Cache: Clear your browser cache and cookies.
    • Incognito Mode: Try accessing Google Sheets in incognito mode to see if it resolves the issue.
  8. Contact Support:

    • Google Cloud Support: If none of the above solutions work, contact Google Cloud support for further assistance. They can help you diagnose any underlying technical issues.
    • GCP Administrator: If you are part of a Google Workspace organization, consult your GCP administrator to check for any organization-specific policies or restrictions.
