BigQuery connection

Hi,

In the company I've working, Google accounts will be deleted in few weeks (we switch to Microsoft). My concern is that we can lose the connection between our Google Analytics 360 and BigQuery. Do you think is there any risk?

Thank you.

Mariana

Yes, there is a risk of losing the connection between Google Analytics 360 and BigQuery if your Google accounts will be deleted in a few weeks.

Google Analytics 360 and BigQuery are connected through a link group. When you delete a Google account, all associated link groups are also deleted. This means that the connection between your Google Analytics 360 properties and BigQuery will be lost.

To avoid losing your Google Analytics 360 data, you should export it to BigQuery before your Google accounts are deleted. You can do this by creating a BigQuery export in Google Analytics 360.

Once you have exported your data to BigQuery, you can disconnect the link group between Google Analytics 360 and BigQuery. This will ensure that your Google Analytics 360 data remains safe and accessible, even after your Google accounts are deleted.

Here are the steps to export your Google Analytics 360 data to BigQuery:

Steps to set up BigQuery Export in Google Analytics 360:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. Navigate to the property you want to link.
  4. In the PROPERTY column, click on BigQuery Linking.
  5. Click on + New Link.
  6. Follow the prompts to link to the desired BigQuery project and dataset.

Steps to disconnect BigQuery from Google Analytics 360:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. Navigate to the property with the BigQuery link.
  4. In the PROPERTY column, click on BigQuery Linking.
  5. Click on the link you want to delete.
  6. In the top right corner, click on the trash can icon to delete the link.

After setting up the BigQuery export, data from Google Analytics 360 will be regularly exported to the specified BigQuery dataset. If you delete your Google account, you should ensure that all necessary data has been exported to BigQuery before the deletion.
