Hi,
We have setup the GA4 properties and linked it to BigQuery after a couple of months. The data flows as expected on a daily basis since the link was defined. The thing that we are still missing is the data backfill to the date when the GA4 property was setup.
Based on the documentation "We will provide a historical export of the smaller of 10 billion hits or 13 months of data within 4 weeks after the integration is complete." - The 4 weeks passed and we have less than the hits amount limit.
How can we initiate this backfill?
Thank you
@Roderick Thank you for your reply.
Is there some something I can check or do by myself?
I am not subscribed for support, so cannot contact them.
Thank you!
Ronen
Hello, getting the exact same issue and i have doubts that the automatic backfilling is only valid for UA and not GA4. Any updates on this?
Hi,
no updates on this PLUS, I opened 4 different cases (as I was redirected to different groups within Google Support) - and this issue is yet to be solved!
I would assume it is simple to manually initiate by Google support, so I really do not understand why they cannot provide the basic support and solve it.
If anyone can help or direct on how to address this, it will be highly appreciated.
Any updates on this ? I am currently facing the same issue.
@RonenSWyou may try to trigger the process manually or use some third party tool, simillar discussion here: https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Data-Analytics/How-to-transfer-all-data-from-Google-Analytic...
Thank you @OlegS , I am familiar with that article.
The source for the data transfer does not include GA4, and 3rds party software might be possible, but I have not tried it.
@James-Phillips I spoke with Google internally and they said that the backfill feature was for UA and not GA4. They are considering adding this backfill feature also to GA4, but currently it is not possible.
@RonenSWinteresting because the article states several times it is about GA4 not UA. Anyway will try it soon once activate my BigQuery billing.
