Google Ads Transfer in BigQuery Does not match conversions with Google Ads Dashboard

Hi everyone,

How to fix data discrepancy in conversions from Google Ads into Google Bigquery via BigQuery Data Transfer Service for Google Ads?

Filtering by conversion name in bigquery and google ads, I dont see both match.

Can you please clarify why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi @Anakeen94

As a test you may try to import your Google Ads data into windsor.ai account and export it into BigQuery.

Hi @Anakeen94 It looks like you're experiencing a common issue where the data from Google Ads and BigQuery doesn't perfectly align, especially when it comes to conversions. There are a few potential reasons for this discrepancy:

  1. Different Timezones: Check if the time zones in Google Ads and BigQuery are aligned. Sometimes the data discrepancies come from data being reported at different times of the day based on timezone settings.

  2. Conversion Attribution Models: Google Ads may use different attribution models (e.g., last-click, data-driven) while BigQuery could be reflecting different conversion types or time frames. Ensure that the attribution settings match between both platforms.

  3. Data Refresh Rates: BigQuery Data Transfer might not update in real-time and could lag behind Google Ads by a day or more. Ensure you're checking data from the same time period and accounting for potential data refresh lags.

  4. Custom Columns or Filters: Ensure that the fields you're querying in BigQuery are the same as the ones you're looking at in Google Ads. It’s possible that filters, conversion categories, or even custom metrics set up in Google Ads are not reflected in your BigQuery data schema.

If you've checked the above and the discrepancy persists, you may want to explore using a different data connector like Windsor.ai, which offers advanced and more granular control over the data extraction and transfer from Google Ads to BigQuery.

Hope this helps!
