Looker Studio ignoring report-wide setting for date range dimension selection

Looker Studio assumes the incorrect date dimension for all my charts when I added them. Gemini assumes the incorrect date dimension also, but it assumes a different date dimension than Looker Studio does.

I went to the article above to set the date dimension for the report and for the current page to the correct dimension, but it has ignored those settings and uses the incorrect dimension.

How can I get it to use the correct dimension? Is there anywhere that I can indicate the default date dimension at the datasource rather in the report?

 

I have set the data range dimension for both the Current Page and the report, but every time I add a new dashboard, it uses a different dimension.
