stuck in a map visualization

I everyone hope you all are well.

actually I am stuck in visualizing the map, in dimensions I have, 'name of states', and years like four columns for years. and I need visualize a slicer or a filter to pick Viz for one year at a time.

Your contribution would great token of inspiration for me.

Thank you.

Good day @SyedZiaulHasam ,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

If I understood correctly, I assume that you have 5 fields in your data, one is 'name of states' and the other 4 are years (e.g. 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021). If this is correct you can try and validate this solution, if it will solve your problem.

1. In your report, add a chart then select Geo chart, Add 'name of states' field to Geo Dimension in your setup and add a year (e.g. 2017) as a metric then add the rest years (e.g. 2018, 2019, 2020) as optional metrics. Change the data type of your 'name of states' to City and the years data types to SUM.

2. Check if the zoom area is in the country you are trying to refer to (e.g. United States), assuming that you've done everything correctly, It should now populate the map visualization.

3. You can use the 'Optional metrics' on the upper right side of the Map Visualization as a slicer or a filter.

You can also check this link to learn more about the Geo chart: https://support.google.com/looker-studio/answer/7065037?hl=en#zippy=%2Cin-this-article

Hope it helps!
