Unable to Join Firebase Projects Due to Domain Restriction Policy

The owner of our firebase DB projects is unable to add me to two Firebase project due to the following error: "An organization policy restricts that only users from specific domains are allowed. Please contact an organization admin."

he sent me an invitation to join as an owner, but when I try to accept it, I got the same error. Does anyone knows how to resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Hi @sidsanc,

It looks like the owner and the two Firebase projects in which you were supposed to be added into are linked to a specific Google Workspace organization.

The error: An organization policy restricts that only users from specific domains are allowed. Please contact an organization admin means that the organization has been enforced with a domain restriction policy that limits resource sharing based on domain or organization resource. This could mean that someone outside a whitelisted domain or organization (like your current email) won't be able to be granted IAM roles for those two projects owned by them.

Even if your colleague is an owner of two Firebase projects, given that they could be linked to a Workspace organization, he/she may still not be privileged to add you as a project member because there's someone from a higher level who manages the organization.

With this, the organization administrator needs to be contacted as they're the only ones who can make changes in the "Domain Restricted Sharing" setting. Lastly, to get further help, it may also be best to get in touch with Google Workspace support so that the team there may provide guided steps that might help resolve this issue.

Hope this helps.
