Unresponsive AlloyDB Instance

Hello Google Cloud,

I am experiencing an issue with one of my AlloyDB instances, which is completely unresponsive. The instance does not respond to any actions or commands. Attempts to restart or access the instance via the Google Cloud Console or the gcloud CLI have failed. Below are the instance details:

Details of the Issue:

  • Cluster Inaccessible: All attempts to connect to the cluster fail. We cannot access the data or perform any operations.
  • Restart Not Working: I tried restarting the cluster through the Google Cloud Console and via CLI (gcloud). Both attempts return internal errors and fail to complete the action.
  • Configuration Changes Not Applied: I also tried adjusting CPU/memory settings to resolve potential inconsistencies, but any changes return an internal error.
  • Internal Error: All actions performed via the console or CLI fail with internal error messages, making it impossible to manage or recover the cluster.

Details Project

Project ID:
sysmo-web
Cluster ID: sysmo-cloud-web
Region: us-central1 (Iowa)
Instance Name: primary-instance
Cluster Type: Primary Cluster
Version: Compatible with PostgreSQL 15
High Availability: No
Network: sysmo-cloud-hibrido

Steps I have attempted to resolve the issue:

  1. Restarted the instance via the Google Cloud Console.
  2. Accessed the instance using gcloud alloydb instances restart.
  3. Tried connecting using Cloud SQL Proxy and psql.

Unfortunately, none of these approaches have resolved the problem. The instance remains completely unresponsive.

This issue is significantly impacting our operations. Please let me know if you require any additional information or logs to assist in resolving this problem.Captura de tela 2024-12-02 160516.pngCaptura de tela 2024-12-02 160634.pngCaptura de tela 2024-12-02 160718.pngCaptura de tela 2024-12-02 160746.pngimage (10).pngimage.pngimages.png

Hi @murilofincatto,

Welcome to Google Cloud Support!

I understand how this issue is impacting your project at this point in time. If you're experiencing an issue where your AlloyDB instance is completely unresponsive and actions such as restarts or configuration changes are failing with internal errors, it is recommended to contact Google Cloud Support with the following information:

  • Instance details (ID, name, cluster name).
  • Error messages received (from the console, CLI, or logs).
  • Time of failure and any actions that led to the issue.
  • If possible, provide logs and any relevant configurations.

Google Cloud Support can assist you with time-sensitive issues that may require checking your project’s current configuration and instance conditions, as well as examining the exact status with your usage and quotas. This will allow them to provide you with more specific troubleshooting and potential recovery steps.

Hope this helps.

I restored a backup by creating a new instance to solve the problem, but
this seems like an alloy bug. It is unacceptable that I cannot restart the
instance or access it. The instance was inoperative for two days, and
mysteriously at 1am it started working again, without any action on my part.
