Hi team,
We’re attempting to migrate our Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL database to Azure using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS).
However, the migration is blocked due to the presence of the `google_vacuum_mgmt` extension, which:
- Is owned by the internal user `cloudsqladmin`
- Cannot be dropped or transferred
- Is not supported on the target (Azure PostgreSQL)
This extension was not manually installed on our end and appears to be auto-created by Cloud SQL.
Can you advise on how to safely proceed with migration or remove this blocker?
I found the same issue faced by another user and was able set the google_vacuum_mgmt flag to false by disabling Gemini for their project.
Hi @adishm,
We’re currently aware of similar issues where database migration jobs in Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL are failing due to the google_vacuum_mgmt
extension.
For now, I recommend you to +1 yourself to the bug report and add the details of your issue such as steps to replicate, configuration settings, screenshots to help us investigate. While there isn’t a specific timeframe for resolution, once we've fixed an issue in production we'll indicate this and then update and close the bug. You may also consider reaching out to other Google Cloud Support channels available.
