I received a notice that a few apps were requiring changes, related to Google developer console. It appears, however, that in the email only an "App name" and "Client ID" was provided and when searching by that criteria, nothing is returned.
How can one cross link a project based on the only on the provided App name or Client ID?
Hmmm ... I think you are saying that Google emailed you and said that some changes were required and only gave you App name and Client Id but didn't tell you which Google Cloud Project these resources were contained in? The assumption (in my mind) is that Google expects / anticipated that you would be able to see that information and map it to the correct project. If that's correct ... I personally would think that an omission/error. Is there a contact on that email that you can follow up with? If yes, I'd email them and ask for clarification ... also point on the lack of mapping back to the project.
If you are inclined and if you are comfortable doing so, please redact EVERYTHING specific from the email to you (your email, your app name, your client ID) and post a copy of the email back to this forum. My thinking here is that then some Google staffer can cite that in a bug report and try and get more details added.
Yeah, that's exactly it. I get admin notices and they sent one saying that some Java authentication wa being removed and to update to a new format along with just those two details of projects that were using them. Thing is, there isn't a place where all that stuff is kept so it does seem to be impossible to cross link to a project on the developer portal. I'll reply back and see what they say and report back. It does seem like it's a miss as to give people enough information to follow up internally with the teams reponsible for the projects.
Just to follow up for anyone interested. I received this update today:
On January 18, 2023, we sent a notification about the support for the Google Sign-In JavaScript platform library being deprecated after March 31, 2023. We are now writing to inform you that the list of App Name and Client ID you received in the previous email could be incorrect.
They then provided the correct app names to locate then within our instance.
