Google Cloud Build SSD or Local SSD

When configuring a private pool to be used with cloud build (https://cloud.google.com/build/docs/private-pools/private-pools-overview) has the team considered adding the ability to connect SSD or Local SSD storage the provisioned VM?

I ask as when executing parallel build steps that requires writes to disk I'm currently finding cloud build VMS to be slower when compared to our current build machines (powered by google pre-emptible machines via k8s but with local ssd storage)
