What Pushes the Forefront of Current Technology / Is Aspirational (Research-Oriented but Plausible):
AI Autonomy (Autonomous Code Generation/Self-Healing):
The core of AI Code Evolution being able to autonomously generate new, complex, and bug-free code to solve high-level problems (e.g., finding entirely new optimization algorithms for plasma control) is still an active, high-level AI research problem. Current commercial capabilities are more focused on auto-completion, code-suggestion, and small-scale bug fixing in well-defined contexts.
However, the framework for autonomous decision-making, testing, and deployment (the ai_code_evolution_service.py) is production-ready for deploying existing or AI-optimized variants of code/models. The challenge is in the sophistication of the AI model within that service that proposes these changes.
Core Performance Orchestration (CPO):
The ability of AI to dynamically and optimally adjust CPU core affinity, memory pinning, and subtle power states at an OS/hardware level for arbitrary, changing workloads is highly specialized and an intense area of research & development. Prototypes exist, but a generalized commercial solution is not readily available. This is pushing hardware-software co-design.
Quantum Supremacy / Optimization (Practical Impact):
Connecting to real quantum computers is technologically feasible now. Performing basic calculations is feasible.
Achieving true, practical "quantum advantage" for complex, real-world optimization problems (like optimizing a fusion plasma profile or designing complex materials) that measurably boosts power output beyond what's classically possible is still an intense research challenge. The "holy grail" of quantum computing is yet to be realized for complex, real-world problems.
Plasma-Driven UI:
Displaying immersive 3D graphics rendered by AI in response to live data on a screen is feasible.
However, true floating volumetric displays that project plasma for UI are a futuristic technology, not commercially available. The idea of the UI code/data stored in an implant and broadcasting to a "plasma projection unit" remains highly speculative sci-fi (requiring breakthroughs in neuro-interfaces and direct energy projection).
