Unable to create OAuth Client ID for my Verified App

Trying to create an OAuth Client ID for my verified project using new branding experience but it keeps asking me to Configure Consent Screen. I have everything setup on Branding screen logo, authorized domains, all URLs etc. I am the owner of the project and have all the necessary permissions.

On clicking the Configure Consent Screen button it takes me to the Branding. I have tried Incognito, different browsers, cleared cache and cookies but none of them works.

Hi @raosaddam

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

It seems like the issue you’re facing may be caused by a small misconfiguration or something missing on the OAuth consent screen. Here are some workarounds that may help resolve the problem:

  • Clear Cookies and Cache: I know you've already tried this, but it’s worth double-checking to make sure no old cookies or session data from the console are messing things up. You could also try using a different Google account or switch to another browser.
  • Refresh the Browser: On Google Auth Platform Branding page, refresh the browser, then click Clients on the left and hit +Create Client.
  • Verify Project Status: Go to IAM & Admin > Settings in your GCP console and make sure that your project is in good standing. Sometimes, if the project isn't verified or is in a "Testing" state, it can block OAuth configuration.
  • Double-check Branding Settings: Ensure that all required fields on the Branding screen (product name, support email, authorized domains, etc.) are completed without any errors. Even small omissions can prevent the OAuth Client ID creation process from moving forward.

If the workarounds above don't work, you can contact Google Cloud Support for a more in-depth analysis.

Hello, Even with everything set up, Google still requires the consent screen to be configured before creating an OAuth Client ID. Try going to the "APIs & Services" section, then "OAuth consent screen," and make sure you have completed all required fields, saved, and published it. If it’s still stuck, try refreshing, logging out and back in, or even switching browsers.
