Verification Failure: Your home page does not include a link to your privacy policy.

We try to set our consent screen app in production via the Google Auth Platform.

It is our fourth attempt and we still get the verification failure "Your home page does not include a link to your privacy policy."

We've made sure the privacy link submitted in the form is correct as Google's moderator response recommended. We've tried to remove the last backlash as some other users recommended.

We still get the same verification failure.

Hi @Guillaume195,

Welcome to the Google Cloud community!

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with verification for your consent screen app due to a missing privacy policy link on your homepage. Here's a breakdown of troubleshooting steps and potential solutions:

1. Double-check the Privacy Policy Link:

2. Review Homepage Content:

  • Ensure the link to the privacy policy is clearly visible and easily accessible on the homepage.
  • Use clear and concise link text (for example "Privacy Policy").

3. Clear Cache and Cookies: Clear browser cache and cookies, as well as any cached data in the Google Cloud Console.

If the workarounds above don't work, you can contact Google Cloud Support for a more in-depth analysis. When contacting them, please provide comprehensive details and include screenshots. This will help them better understand and address your issue.

Hi Chieko,

These solutions didn't work for me. Actually I did everything right. It's just that I needed to reply to the automatic email from Google acknowledging the app didn't fall into some usage. After 2 days, the app was approved and the error message was removed. I wish Google made error messages clearer.

Hi Chieko,

These solutions didn't work for me. I even didnt got any mail what should we do

Hi Guillaume 195,

Were you able to solve the problem you describe, I have the same error impossible to solve even after doing everything ChieKo suggests in his answer ...

Thanks a lot for the feedback 🙂

Yes, I initially omitted responding to Google's email after my first submission. The email, titled '[Action Needed] OAuth Verification Request Acknowledgement,' required a response confirming that the app does not meet certain conditions. After I replied, Google responded within two days and approved the app without requiring any further edits in the Google Console. I hope this helps.
