Migrate an SAP BO platform to Looker and move complexity into BigQuery

Hello team,

If for you or for your company, you are looking for a solution to migrate an SAP BO platform to Looker (model, content), we have built an engine for this. Implemented for a large company.

To avoid complexity persisting after migration, we are moving the sequence of variables from SAP BO dashboards to Big Query. Also to persist data that will be used in Looker and only produce it once for many Looker dashboards.

At your disposal to explain this in detail 🙂

Hi Théo,

I'd appreciate some guidance on migrating a Universe to LookML.
Our end users rely on universes for self-service BI, and I'm aiming to replicate that functionality in Looker.

Initially, I assumed a one-to-one mapping between universes and explores.
However, I understand this isn't always the case.
in webi i can dispaly one objet the sql created behaviour is select object from table3
in looker it's select object from table1 join table2 join table3 (table1, table2, table3 are in one explore)

Could you help me understand the best approach for migrating universes to Looker? Perhaps an example using the eFashion.unx universe would be illustrative.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

thank you for your message.

We are a software publisher. We have developed a tool allowing us to migrate the layout, the intelligence, but also the semantic layer (through a king of the control table). Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with any further information regarding our "secret sauce". But if you are looking for a partner to help you with your project, do not hesitate,
KR,

sorry but there's a kind of IP on  technology.

Thank you for your reply.
I understand you have a tool that does this automatically. What is reassuring is to know that it is possible to migrate a SAP BO universe that is not specifically in star mode into a looker.
Have a nice day
