Looker_Hack is back with our first ever two-day hackathon for Looker Application Development. Over these two full days of hacking, we’ll provide everything that you need to build something incredible on the Looker platform. You’ll be able to attend live educational jumpstart sessions, get hands-on support from experts and rare access to Looker software engineers, and be the very first to use unreleased developer tools. No team? No problem. We’ll be facilitating team building and project ideation, as well as providing a pre-baked repository of excellent project ideas to pick from. Prefer to work alone? Awoooo, lone wolf - we see you. You’re encouraged to bring your own project ideas, but our educational content and pre-seeded ideas will be particularly focused on: - Extensions built on the Looker Extension Framework - Actions and integrations that bring data to life - Looker Developer Tools - Embedded data experiences - Getting started with the Looker API and SDKs If you’re an existing or aspiring Looker Application Developer, this is the place for you to learn, connect with like-minded developers, and possibly, just possibly win the coveted Best Hack or Nearly Best Hack award.

In honor of Project eXperience’s liftoff, we thought it would be fun to offer a little data challenge to kickstart your learning journey and participation in the Project X Community Group! After all, there’s really no better way to elevate your skills than to roll up those sleeves and dive into a dataset. The challenge: Sign up for the Project eXperience Community Group Start with this Look. You’ll find a trove of flight data points with some fields and filters already selected. Once you take a look at what’s already been built here, select ‘Edit’ and continue to rework and make it your own. Get creative! What kind of interesting insights can you gather and visualize that include the fields we’ve pre-selected? For bonus credit: clear out the Look by hitting ‘clear all’ and create a Look from scratch. Make sure to post your results on this thread within the Project X community!
