Advanced date filter : last 1 week and month

In Looker why is it when you choose advanced date filter and then filter on last 1 week that it gives results of the current week? This can cause great user confusion

Yes, the date filters work in current date perspective and to make it work according to max date in data, you will have to implement respective logic in LookML by creating custom date filter and using its value to filter dates in the desired fashion.
