Since about two months ago, we started to notice an error saying we do not have permission to view it after we clicked on Explore from here from a tile on a Looker dashboard. This doesn't happen every time we use explore from here but it had happened to everyone a couple times in our team.
Seeing the same issue, and I am an administrator.
Not sure this is your issue, but I am having a hunch about one possible culrpit...
Can you clarify if you have noticed any pattern that causes this to happen?
Could it be related to interacting with Table visualizations that were edited since the dasbboard was loaded?
Also, what version of Looker are you experiencing this on?
I haven't noticed a pattern, but you might be on to something with the table visualization (although that is the most common viz we use so that could be a coincidence).
This is on Looker Original, latest version as we're cloud hosted.
Got it, thanks.
Indeed, I was able to replicate this issue directly on recent Looker version:
1) Edit a tile definition
2) Save dashboard
3) Don’t reload
4) Explore from here
RESULT: Land on the generic access error message
WORKAROUND: Reload browser window of dashboard after saving.
I am following up internally about this. I cannot yet be 100% sure, but I believe is related to a similar issue that was already fixed, so I’m hopefully this can be addressed quickly.
Excellent, thank you!
