Looker - Dynamic Date Filter

How to create a date filter in Looker that allows users to select a date range and automatically adjust the YoY% change calculation based on the selected period. I don't have access to LookML.
I've to find a way using Custom Filed. I don't have access to templated filters

If you don't have access to LookML, probably the best you can do is to use filters to filter this year and last year, and pivot the data based on year. Then users would have to add an additional filter based on the month of year, or week of year, or similar. That way they would get data for the same week, month, etc this year and last year for comparison.
