MoM / YoY metrics

I am a complete newbie to Looker, just starting doing training on it. And I have a measure: Net Sales - it is preexisting.

And i want to create a MoM and YoY metric and I am really lost with all the help I see on forum.

Could someone help me write this, and also, could someone explain why, when I click on explore a measure (net sales) and Run, I get 0? It is possible there is actually 0 there, but can there be other reasons?

Most likely the measure is returning zero, or you have filters that are filtering out all of the data. Check your filter bar at the top of the screen and see what filters are there.
