Retrieve total costs details for a project

I am trying to automate retrieving the total costs incurred for a GCP project for a particular month. I only have access at project level and not at billing account level. I can view the report under project->billing->reports, but not able to retrieve the costs information. I tried using API also but no luck. Please help with this

Take a look at this documentation. The Cloud Billing reports shows you the usage costs at a glance. You need to have the permission required before you can access reports.
