Unable to create google chat notification channel

Im trying to create a new Google Chat notification channel for error reporting.
In the "MANAGE NOTIFICATION CHANNELS" modal I can add it. But when I close the modal it is not saved, and I can not see it in the list of my other channels like email.

And if I open the"MANAGE NOTIFICATION CHANNELS" modal again, the Google Chat channel is no longer there.

Does this work for anyone?

Interesting. I can see them if I go to the https://console.cloud.google.com/monitoring/alerting/notifications?referrer=search&project=myproject page.

But they are not available in the "CONFIGURE NOTIFICATIONS" modal on the top right of
https://console.cloud.google.com/errors?project=myproject
Can you see yours there? Are there other pages where I can enable the channel?

Yes, because notification channels are totally separated for application errors ( like in your case ) from Monitoring service. So, to use chat channel for apps errors, you must add once again from Error reporting page notification channel.

But this is what I tried from the start. And the channels I add is not visible after I add them, as i described in the original post.

I dont think they are totally separated. All the Google Chat channels I had tried to add previously (via error reporting) was visible on that page.

I suspect the google chat option is not supported for error reporting.
https://cloud.google.com/error-reporting/docs/notifications
I will probably have to use a webhook instead.

I think they reused the "managed notification channel" page in another context and did not consider that this use case was not supported there.

DO not believe documentation, as it has mistakes and gaps ( I found few outdates and misunderstanding there) 😉 They are separated, because I don't see my channels from Monitoring site ( or this is a bug). Notice, that this is at preview, so it might be not fully work as expected. You can always make a bug issue https://issuetracker.google.com/issues
and Google should answer any doubts.

I submitted a bug and they confirmed that this is a feature not yet available:
